Start at Plaza de la Independencia with the Metropolitan Cathedral. Walk along Calle 3ra to Plaza Bolívar and the church of San Francisco de Asís. Continue to Paseo Esteban Huertas — a pedestrian walkway with sea views and views of the Amador Causeway. Visit the Bóvedas (former colonial dungeons converted into galleries). End at Plaza Francia with the monument to the Canal builders. The full route takes 2-3 hours without dining stops. Sundays feature an artisan market in the Plaza.
