3 Perfect Days from Buenaventura

6 min read

Championship golf, luxury beach club, mountain excursion, and surfing: 3 days of diverse experiences from our Buenaventura property.

Day 1: Golf & Beach Club

Morning (7 AM): Early tee time at Buenaventura Golf Club for an 18-hole round on the Nicklaus Design course. Equipment rental available at the pro shop. Lunch: At the clubhouse restaurant ("19th Hole") overlooking the course. Afternoon: Head straight to El Faro Beach Club for pool, beach, and drinks. Dinner: Puntarenas restaurant within Buenaventura, specializing in Pacific seafood. Resort events: Before you travel, check the monthly events calendar (golf tournaments, dining promos, zoo, and Sunday mass at La Ermita).

Day 2: El Valle de Antón

Morning (8 AM): Drive to El Valle de Antón (45 min), a picturesque town in the crater of an extinct volcano. Visit the artisan market (Sundays are best). Mid-morning: Hike to El Macho waterfall or Chorro de Las Mozas. Lunch: At one of the town's restaurants ($10-20). Afternoon: Visit the natural hot springs, butterfly garden, or El Níspero zoo. You can also see the petroglyphs. Return: Back to Buenaventura for a sunset on the beach.
💡

El Valle sits at 800m elevation — bring a light jacket, temperatures are 5-8°C cooler than the coast.

Day 3: Surfing & Beach

Morning (7 AM): Drive to Punta Barco or Playa Malibú (20-30 min) for a morning surf session. Surf schools available for beginners ($30-50 per lesson). Waves are most consistent from May to November. Lunch: At a local beach restaurant. Afternoon: Return to the Beach Club for the last hours of sun. Or explore Coronado, the nearest commercial center with shops, cinemas, and supermarkets. Dinner: Farewell dinner at one of the area's restaurants.
